Adaptability

I was delivering software training

to a full house of precise, meticulous and busy EH&S scientists and engineers, when my means of accessing the software I was demonstrating the use of, became inaccessible - and I was told irreparably so, for the remaining of the training period.

In some regards I was off the hook, as the origin of the debilitating difficulty belonged to my hosts. And yet, there we all were, assembled for a purpose at great expense to my client, and I felt compelled to deliver, and decided to retain ownership for the results I'd promised.

So I did something instead of nothing

I had an assistant copy and distribute my paper handouts, and continued the training, toggling between reference to screen shot images and calling up mini groups for practice of the most important concepts on my laptop.

A Prize for Problem Solving

It wasn't ideal, but I was told it was successful by the gentlemen who followed up the training event with this kind letter praising my adaptability and commitment.
